Hey guys!

It’s that time of year again! Warped Tour is right around the corner and I’m starting to put together my volunteer groups for each day.  This summer, Substream Music Press will be out from July 6th-31st, and I’m going to need two street teamers for each day.  Here’s a little bit of an idea of what you’ll be doing during the day:

  • arrive before gates open to help set up the tent
  • pass out flyers/stickers to people entering/leaving
  • get people to subscribe to the magazine
  • sell merch
  • hand out free mags
  • help out with daily band signings
  • help tear down the tent (usually between 6-7pm)

Since you are volunteering, I will give you a workers wristband, which will give you free entry into the venue.  Keep in mind though that you are volunteering, so I expect you to be available to work until the end of the day.

Don’t worry! This may sound like a lot, but I promise that will be able to still watch the bands you want to see.

TO APPLY:

Please send a short e-mail to dana@substreammusicpress.com, and include:

  • your full name
  • your age
  • the date/city you would like to volunteer at
  • any previous volunteering/promotion/street team experience.
  • a short introduction: Tell me about yourself! I am looking for outgoing an enthusiastic people to help out. Don’t be shy!
  • why you would like to volunteer with Substream
  • any health problems I might need to be aware of
  • If you would like to work with a friend, please apply together in one email and include all of the above for both of you.
  • link to facebook/twitter/tumblr (so I know who you are/can put a face to your name)

MUST:

  • be 16+ (sorry guys, no exceptions)
  • be able to commit to helping the whole day
  • have reliable transportation to/from venue

please note: you will be responsible for all parking/food costs. I will have a nice big cooler in the tent, so you’re more than welcome to bring any food/water with you from home to save money (do not bring alcohol).

Application e-mails are due by May 18th. Please get them in ASAP, since spots will fill up extremely fast. Remember, I only have two wristbands for each day!

Second To Last, a four-piece melodic punk band hailing from Lodi, CA, have been working nonstop over the past few years to create a catchy sound all their own.  Their music, reminiscent of early Alkaline Trio, Saves The Day, and Hot Water Music, reflects their growth as musicians, and focuses on more meaningful topics than today’s pop punk bands tend to cover.  Substream got a chance to catch up with the guys and discuss their upcoming EP, Vessels (out June 5th on Hella Mad Records), as well as their plans for this coming year. Hailing from the central valley of Los Banos, California, Murder My Hero is one band that has hit the ground running with their music since their formation.  Their sound can best be compared to the likes of hardcore/screamo greats The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red, or We Came As Romans, although their passion-driven and melodic lyrics paired with heavy breakdowns create a sound all their own.  Substream got a chance to chat with Travis Cook, their drummer, about what they have in store for the coming year.
